Module OM · Order Management

From the first order to the signed handover.

Order Management keeps every job in one place: the customer, the line items, the work orders on the shop floor, how it leaves, what’s been paid, and a tracking link your customer can check themselves.

What it fixes

  • Orders written on paper or in a spreadsheet nobody else can see
  • The workshop starting a job without knowing what material it needs
  • No proof the customer actually received the goods
  • Chasing who has paid what, and how much is still owed

What’s in Order Management.

Sales orders

  • Line items with discounts as a percentage or a fixed rand amount
  • Your customer’s PO number and a promised date on every order
  • Each order moves through clear stages — requested, under review, awaiting payment, confirmed, in production, ready, delivered
  • A full history of every status change and who made it
  • Internal notes your team sees that never reach the customer

Work orders (job cards)

  • Raise work orders straight from the order
  • Materials come from each item’s bill of materials, including sub-assemblies
  • Materials are checked off as they’re issued — linked stock items come off the shelf
  • Finished items linked to stock go back on the shelf when a work order completes

Delivery and handover

  • Four ways out: your own driver, customer collection, a courier you book, or the customer’s courier
  • Assign deliveries to your drivers
  • Record courier, waybill, parcel count, and vehicle registration
  • Signatures captured on screen, with a PDF proof of delivery or collection
  • Hand over part of an order now and the rest later

Payments and customers

  • Record payments against each order — part-paid or paid is worked out from the money
  • Keep the tax invoice number from your accounting software on the order
  • Business and individual customers, with categories and an on-hold status
  • Merge duplicate customers and archive old ones without losing their history
  • Export orders and customers to CSV, Excel, or PDF

Customer tracking

  • Send a branded tracking email from the order in one tap
  • A tracking page customers open without signing in
  • It shows the stage, how the order is reaching them, and the signatures once it’s handed over

Questions on the job

Order Management, answered.

Is a work order the same as a job card?

Yes. Fabristack calls them work orders. Each one is raised from a sales order, lists the materials from the item’s bill of materials, and has its own status from not started to complete.

Does Fabristack create tax invoices?

No. Keep invoicing in your accounting software and store its tax invoice number on the order. Fabristack records the payments against each order and works out what’s still owed.

Do I need Inventory Controller to use work orders?

Work orders are part of Order Management. Inventory Controller adds the stock side — stock levels, reorder points, purchase orders, and stock takes — so material checked off on a work order comes off a real stock count.
